ORANJESTAD – Education Minister Gerlien Croes has officially approved new promotion standards for public primary schools under the Department of Public Schools (DPS). The new policy aims to ensure fair, transparent and consistent student evaluations, with a strong focus on inclusion and tailored assessments.

The standards provide special consideration for students with learning or developmental challenges, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other diagnosed conditions. Decisions on promotion or grade retention must be made jointly by teachers, school support staff and parents, taking each child's individual needs into account.

Minister Croes reaffirmed her commitment to providing equal educational opportunities for every child in Aruba.
