ORANJESTAD — More than 120 participants from Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten and Saba attended the second LGBTQI+ conference, held in Aruba on October 22–23, 2026, focusing on workplace diversity, inclusion and safety.
Organized by the Dutch Ministries of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) and Education, Culture and Science (OCW), the event brought together employers, human resources professionals, labor unions and civil society organizations to discuss creating more inclusive workplaces.
Through presentations, panel discussions and interactive sessions, participants addressed discrimination prevention, leadership responsibilities and the development of workplace inclusion policies. LGBTQI+ organizations from the participating islands shared their experiences and challenges.
Marriott Resort and the Dutch FNV union's Netwerk Regenboog presented practical examples of workplace inclusion, while Workplace Pride conducted interactive workshops.
Building on the first conference held in Curaçao in 2024, organizers said the event strengthened knowledge-sharing and cooperation toward safer, more respectful workplaces across the Dutch Caribbean.
