ORANJESTAD — Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) warns that waiting lists will grow and scheduled operations and treatments will be affected unless a solution is reached with UOAZV and the health minister within two weeks. According to the hospital, discussions have continued since March 2026 without a definitive agreement.
HOH presented its concerns to members of UOAZV’s supervisory board during a meeting and tour. The hospital highlighted the urgent need to relocate its dialysis clinic, invest in facilities and secure coverage for hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
According to HOH, its premises have doubled in size, but its fixed funding from UOAZV has not increased to cover the expansion. The hospital is calling for urgent decisions to prevent further consequences for patients.
