ORANJESTAD — The Telecommunications Workers Union (STT) has expressed serious concerns about the vacancy for SETAR N.V.'s new director, particularly the possibility of hiring a foreign candidate on a five-year contract.

According to STT, SETAR has benefited from internal leadership for 23 years, demonstrating that local professionals have the expertise to manage the company. The union also questions why telecommunications experience is not a primary requirement.

STT warns that SETAR falls under the Top Incomes Standardization Act (LNT) and opposes any potential exemption benefiting a foreign director while Aruban professionals remain subject to the law's restrictions.

“STT will not remain silent,” the union declared, insisting that local professionals deserve recognition and opportunities.
