ORANJESTAD — Starting November 1, 2026, Aruba will introduce stricter screening of travelers heading to the island. Authorities may deny passengers permission to board an aircraft or ship before they depart.

Airlines and shipping companies must submit passenger information in advance through an electronic system. This may include passport details, reservations, travel itineraries, payment methods and baggage information.

The rules apply to travelers of all nationalities, including those from the Netherlands and other parts of the Dutch Kingdom.

Reservation data may be retained for up to five years, although directly identifying information must generally be masked after six months.

Introduced by Justice Minister Arthur Dowers, the measure aims to strengthen border security. Significant decisions cannot be made solely by automated systems and must allow for human review.
