ORANJESTAD — Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) received an Honourable Mention at the 2026 International Hospital Federation Awards in Seoul, South Korea, in the Social and Environmental Responsibility category. The recognition was presented during the 49th World Hospital Congress, which attracted more than 750 entries from 38 countries.

HOH was recognized for its “From Tourism to Community” project, which directs part of the revenue generated from medical care provided to tourists toward supporting Aruba's community.

The initiative supports specialized education for children with disabilities, food assistance for disadvantaged families and essential medical care for uninsured undocumented individuals.

According to HOH, the award recognizes its social commitment despite financial pressures and challenges facing Aruba's healthcare system.
