Jennifer Arends-Reyes (AVP): Tourism must improve people’s lives

ORANJESTAD — AVP parliamentary leader Jennifer Arends-Reyes is calling for tourism growth to deliver greater wellbeing for residents. Following CAft’s observations, she emphasised the need to address pressure on housing, traffic, the labour market and utilities.

Arends-Reyes advocates coordination between ministries, infrastructure investment, training opportunities for workers and regulation of short-term vacation rentals. She also called for clear responsibilities and monitoring of results. “Our people’s wellbeing must be the guiding principle,” she said.
