ORANJESTAD — Rondel Heyliger of the FUTURO Party is calling for an economic impact study before raising Aruba's monthly minimum wage from approximately Afl. 2,007 to Afl. 2,700, a 34% increase in three phases. While supporting decent wages, he warns of possible inflation, job losses and financial pressure on small businesses. Heyliger urges dialogue between government, unions and employers to protect purchasing power without harming the economy.
