ORANJESTAD — Sint Maarten Prime Minister Luc Mercelina met with Aruba Prime Minister Mike Eman in the Netherlands to discuss stronger and more equal cooperation among the countries of the Kingdom.

Mercelina believes Aruba, Sint Maarten and the other constituent countries should have greater involvement in shared decisions while respecting their cultural differences and autonomy.

He called for concrete improvements in education, healthcare and justice, alongside greater Caribbean participation in the Kingdom's foreign affairs.

The meeting comes ahead of the Kingdom Summit, scheduled for November 17–18, 2026, in Sint Maarten, where the four countries will discuss their future cooperation.
