WILLEMSTAD — MEP parliamentarian Shailiny Tromp-Lee stresses that Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten must discuss the draft Kingdom dispute settlement arrangement by November 16, 2026. The agreement was reached during the Tripartite parliamentary meeting on October 15 in Curaçao.
Each country must deliberate internally and determine its position. Those supporting the proposal must submit a formal letter of support. The mechanism is intended to address disputes between countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
According to Tromp-Lee, the arrangement could strengthen Aruba’s position and provide a clear, transparent procedure for resolving disagreements while ensuring its interests are considered.
