WILLEMSTAD — Parliamentary delegations from Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten have expressed concern about legislative initiatives from the Netherlands that affect the Caribbean countries without prior consultation.
During a tripartite meeting in Curaçao on October 15, they discussed several proposed Kingdom laws. According to Curaçao’s Parliament, concrete agreements were reached, but their details were not disclosed.
The delegations also received an update on a mechanism to resolve disputes between Kingdom countries and reviewed progress on earlier agreements.
The next tripartite meeting is scheduled for January 12, 2027, in St. Maarten.
