ORANJESTAD — Aruba is preparing to welcome a new attraction: The Balashi Beer Experience. On Thursday morning, the press received an introduction to the MetaCorp project, which CEO Eddie de Veer said involved an investment of 30 million and 30 months of development, from the initial idea to its current stage, nearing opening.
De Veer explained that the concept emerged during a conversation between three people, when CFO Guus proposed creating an experience inspired by similar attractions in the Netherlands. Within 24 hours, the team had contacted Sandenburg, a Dutch company specialising in designing this type of experience. “We are opening a new chapter in MetaCorp’s journey,” De Veer said. He explained that the company is expanding its entertainment offering, which traditionally includes cinema, to incorporate an experience concept.
Sandenburg, led by Marcus and his team, handled the experience’s design and development. Another 20 local companies contributed to bringing the project to life, creating 17 new jobs under Gloria’s leadership. “This is not the construction of a house or a cinema. You will understand more when you take the tour,” De Veer said, highlighting the specialist expertise required.
The CEO expressed pride in the result and thanked the team and local companies for their efforts to meet the deadline despite the delays a project of this scale can bring. He also highlighted the enthusiasm of the new employees from their first interviews.
According to information provided during the presentation, the venue is fully wheelchair accessible, with a lift providing access between its different levels.
De Veer expressed his hope that The Balashi Beer Experience will add value to Gloria and Aruba, for both tourists and residents.
With the opening of The Balashi Experience, Aruba gains a truly unique experience that takes its entertainment offering to the next level. The attraction gives visitors and residents a new reason to discover and enjoy what Aruba has to offer.
