ORANJESTAD — The AWE Project has completed its first professional training program in barbering, awarding certificates to 11 young people between the ages of 16 and 35 who completed four practical workshops during September.

During the course, participants received hands-on barbering training, guidance about the profession and information on opportunities to enter the labor market or eventually start their own business. In addition to their certificates, each participant received a starter kit so they can continue practicing and developing the skills they learned.

The course was supported by Alcides Marin, owner of STASH, who shared his professional knowledge and experience with the group.

The 11 participants who completed the program are Ryan Tromp, Zahid Vrolijk, Riangelo Irausquin, Xakaii Aleyne, Jerome Richardson, Brayden Henriquez, Woodly Estime, Rudson Paesch, Guillermo Vital Fotel, Shereliz St. Jago and Juan Valdez.

The AWE Project aims to create practical opportunities for young people to develop skills, prepare for employment, explore entrepreneurship or continue their education.
