ORANJESTAD — Aruba Bank has announced the appointment of Ramon Mas as Managing Director, effective November 1, 2026. Mas currently serves as Head of Corporate & Platinum Banking and KYC.

The leadership change draws attention because the current Managing Director, Rob Ridder, was appointed to the position only a little more than a year ago, effective August 1, 2025. Aruba Bank did not include further details in its new announcement about the circumstances surrounding the change in Managing Director, and questions submitted by Noticiacla on the matter have not yet been answered by the bank.

Mas has more than 25 years of experience in the banking sector, including corporate banking, credit risk, personal banking, regulatory matters and executive leadership. Since joining Aruba Bank in 2013, he has held several key positions and has contributed to strengthening the bank’s corporate banking activities, the quality of its credit portfolio and its relationships with Aruba’s business community.

Before joining Aruba Bank, Mas built an international banking career in Spain and Belgium. There, he gained experience in corporate banking, credit risk, cash management, trade finance and relationship management with corporate clients, including mid-sized and multinational companies.

Mas said Aruba has been his home for many years and that he is proud to take on the new role. According to him, his focus will be on a bank that stays close to its clients, makes sound decisions and remains committed to Aruba’s long-term wellbeing.

As Managing Director, Mas will work together with the other board members to further develop Aruba Bank’s strategic priorities, promote innovation and place special attention on clients, employees and Aruba’s economic development.
