Emilio returns to Aruba with prosthetic leg after specialized treatment

ORANJESTAD — Emilio van der Linde has returned to Aruba after completing specialized medical treatment abroad, where he received a prosthetic leg with support and coordination from the Aruba Shriners Club.

Prime Minister Mike Eman and Minister Wendrick Cicilia welcomed Emilio at Queen Beatrix International Airport upon his return.

The government highlighted the role of the Aruba Shriners Club, which worked with Shriners International to support the process that allowed Emilio to receive the medical care and prosthesis he needed. According to the government, this marked the first project carried out by a Shriners Club in the Caribbean.

Emilio’s return with his prosthetic leg represents an important moment for his family and illustrates the impact that cooperation between volunteer organizations and the community can have in helping people who need specialized medical care.
