ORANJESTAD – Jossy Motors N.V. has celebrated 68 years of history in Aruba, a special milestone that General Manager César Tromp used to reflect on the company’s past, development and future, while also emphasizing the people who have contributed to its consolidation over the decades.
During his speech, Tromp highlighted Jossy Motors’ long journey and how the company has adapted its activities over the years, expanding the brands and products it represents.
One of the most significant moments was the recognition of one of the company’s longest-serving employees. According to Tromp, this employee has now completed 50 years of service at Jossy Motors — nearly three quarters of the company’s 68-year existence in Aruba.
The recognition underscored the human side of Jossy Motors’ history: a trajectory built not only on brands, vehicles and commercial activity, but also on generations of employees who have contributed to the company’s continuity.
Another important chapter in that history is the relationship with Honda. Tromp recalled that Honda’s presence within Jossy Motors did not begin with cars, but with motorcycles.
“The nicest part of the story is that in the beginning, we started with motorcycles,” Tromp said.
According to Tromp, 1998 marked another important step, when Jossy Motors expanded its activities with Honda into the automobile segment.
“We started with Honda in 1998, when we began with the automobile brand,” he explained.
Tromp’s account portrayed a company that has gone through different phases of change and expansion over 68 years, while maintaining a steady presence in the Aruban market.
Today, Honda represents an important part of Jossy Motors’ activities, while the company continues preparing for the next phase of its journey.
Tromp indicated that the future will depend on the work being done today, the experience accumulated over the years and the company’s ability to continue adapting to a constantly changing market.
“The future is coming with us as well,” he said.
With its 68th anniversary, Jossy Motors is marking nearly seven decades of presence in Aruba’s business community. The recognition of an employee with 50 years of service symbolizes how much of that history was built not only through business, but also through the people who dedicated many years of their working lives to the company.
