PARIS – France and Saudi Arabia have signed a €6 billion letter of intent to build three Disneyland-style amusement parks near Paris. One of them will be themed around Dragon Ball Z.
The project, announced by President Emmanuel Macron during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit, could create around 22,000 jobs. It will be financed through Qiddiya, part of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.
The parks are planned near Cergy-Pontoise on the former Mirapolis site. No opening date has been announced. Some local politicians fear the new parks could draw visitors away from Disneyland Paris.
