Aerolíneas Argentinas can again use Venezuelan airspace on Aruba routes

ORANJESTAD – Aerolíneas Argentinas can once again use Venezuelan airspace, a development that is particularly relevant to its services between Argentina and Aruba. The previous restriction forced Argentine-registered aircraft to avoid Venezuela, resulting in longer routings to destinations including Aruba, Punta Cana and Miami.

According to reports in Argentina, Venezuela lifted the restriction following diplomatic talks between the two governments. The measure had applied not only to Aerolíneas Argentinas but to all Argentine-registered aircraft.

For Aruba, the change could allow more direct and efficient flight paths, reducing detours around Venezuelan airspace. It may also affect flight times, fuel consumption and aircraft deployment on certain routes.

The authorization is limited to overflights and does not mean direct flights between Argentina and Caracas will resume. Aerolíneas Argentinas has not served the Venezuelan capital since 2017.
