ORANJESTAD – Aruba has taken the number-one spot in a new ranking of the 10 safest tourist destinations to visit this season, based on feedback from more than 14,000 travelers.
The ranking, published by Travel Off Path, is based on its Traveler Safety Index, which uses votes from travelers who recently visited the destinations. Aruba scored an impressive 97 out of 100, the highest score among all destinations included.
The publication highlights Aruba’s freedom of movement as one of its strengths, noting that visitors can comfortably rent a car to explore the coast, walk through Oranjestad or move between beaches and bars. The overall atmosphere is described as relaxed and welcoming.
Aruba also holds a Level 1 – Exercise Normal Precautions rating from the U.S. State Department, its lowest travel-advisory level. Travel Off Path says its traveler feedback reinforces Aruba’s reputation as a particularly safe destination.
Aruba ranked ahead of Cabo San Lucas, El Salvador, Spain, Italy, the Cayman Islands, Poland, Anguilla, Cancun and San José del Cabo.
