Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima congratulate Curaçao on National Anthem and Flag Day

WILLEMSTAD — King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima have extended their congratulations to the people of Curaçao on the occasion of National Anthem and Flag Day, celebrated today, July 2. In their message, the Dutch royal couple praised the island's vibrant culture, positive spirit and confidence in the future.

The King and Queen also noted that this year's celebration coincides with the 75th anniversary of the first meeting of Curaçao's Island Council, describing it as an important milestone in the island's constitutional history.

Calling Curaçao a self-confident country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the royal couple said they feel a strong bond with its people and wished all Curaçaoans a joyful National Anthem and Flag Day celebration.
