ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The Aruba Lions Club has installed its new Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 Lions year during a ceremonial gathering held at the Bubali Ballroom of Embassy Suites, attended by representatives of several service organizations across the island.
Former District 35-N Governor Ivan Croes presided over the installation ceremony, officially swearing in Gerardo Figaroa as the club's new president. He will be joined by Vice President Ryan Ras, Secretary Swinda Roga and Treasurer Magaly Franken as the executive leadership team.
The new board also includes Dietje Muduro and Sheila Maduro as first- and second-year directors, Mirla Koolman as Membership Director, Vanesa Olive as Leo Advisor, and outgoing president Edmar Lopez, who will serve as Lion Tamer and Twister.
In his inaugural address, Figaroa outlined the principles that will guide the organization over the coming year, including family, friendship, integrity, leadership, transparency, cooperation, empowerment, honesty and a steadfast commitment to serving those in need.
Founded in 1947, the Aruba Lions Club has served the island for nearly eight decades. It is part of Lions Clubs International through District 35-N, which encompasses South Florida, The Bahamas, Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service organization, with more than 1.4 million members in over 200 countries and territories.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to volunteer service and thanked the people of Aruba for their continued support of its fundraising activities and community initiatives.
