ORANJESTAD – Aruba's Public Prosecution Service is urging all travelers to pay any outstanding fines before traveling. Individuals with unpaid fines may be stopped at the border until the amount owed has been settled.
During passport control at the airport, officials can immediately see whether a traveler has an outstanding fine through an alert linked to their name. If such an alert appears, the traveler may be detained and allowed to continue only after paying the debt. This could result in missing a flight, unexpected expenses or disruptions to vacation plans, in addition to the stress and disappointment the situation may cause.
The Public Prosecution Service advises travelers to check in advance whether they have any outstanding fines and to settle them before departure. Anyone who is unsure can send an email to info@omaruba.aw, including their full name.
Outstanding fines can be paid at the cashier's office of the Public Prosecution Service without an appointment. The office is open on Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Fridays, the office is open only in the morning. Payments can be made in cash or by bank transfer to Aruba Bank account 4000905.
