ORANJESTAD – Parliamentarian Dangui Oduber (MEP) has raised serious concerns about the financial situation at Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital and criticized Health Minister Wyatt Ras for remaining largely silent.

According to Oduber, the hospital is facing financial pressure that is affecting payments to suppliers and, based on information circulating, may also be affecting the delivery of certain medicines. He also points to wider problems in healthcare, including a shortage of general practitioners, longer waiting lists and delays in specialist care.

Oduber is calling on Minister Ras to explain the hospital’s actual financial situation to Parliament and the public and to present a clear plan for the healthcare sector.

He is also questioning why the hospital renovation and construction project has still not been officially delivered, despite Parliament receiving an invitation for the handover in September 2025.
