ORANJESTAD – The Government of Aruba and its partners have announced six locations where residents can dispose of waste during the second National Cuida Aruba Day on Saturday, August 29, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The collection points are in San Nicolas, Pos Chikito/Burubundo, Barcadera, Santa Cruz, Oranjestad and Tanki Leendert. Prime Minister Mike Eman said the number of sites was reduced to six to make the operation more efficient after the first edition placed heavy pressure on trucks responsible for removing and emptying full containers.

Residents are being asked to separate waste at home where possible to speed up unloading, transport and processing. A special entry and exit system will be used at Harbour Arena to help traffic flow smoothly.

The EcoTech waste facility in Barcadera is also open daily from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and residents are encouraged to use it before Saturday if possible.

Cuida Aruba also links clean-up efforts to public health, as abandoned waste can collect rainwater and become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of dengue. Residents, organizations and businesses can also volunteer or adopt an area to clean.

The six locations are Trupial Field in San Nicolas, the baseball field in Pos Chikito/Burubundo, EcoTech Barcadera, Arsenal Field in Santa Cruz, Harbour Arena in Oranjestad and the field near Colegio Ora Ubao in Tanki Leendert.
