Gerlien Croes strengthens support for swimming instructors

ORANJESTAD – Education and Sports Minister Gerlien Croes has provided 20 tablets and a laptop to swimming instructors, along with support for new uniforms, as part of efforts to modernize and facilitate their work.
Croes is also in talks with the Human Resources Department to address the instructors’ legal employment status, an issue she says has remained unresolved for many years.
“They perform an important task and deserve the necessary attention on this issue as well,” Croes said.
The ministry says it aims to improve both resources and working conditions for the instructors during the 2026-2027 school year.
