Reminder for Dutch nationals from Aruba in affected areas of Colombia to register
ORANJESTAD – Aruba residents with Dutch nationality who remain in areas affected by the powerful earthquake in Colombia are being reminded to register with the information service of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The appeal was issued yesterday following the earthquake that struck Chocó in western Colombia on Monday, August 10, 2026, with serious effects also reported in cities such as Manizales, Pereira and Cali.
Aruba’s Department of Foreign Relations stresses that registration is important so authorities can locate Dutch nationals and provide assistance if necessary.
Those who have not yet registered can do so through informatieservice.nederlandwereldwijd.nl. Assistance is also available through the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs by telephone at +31 247 247 247 or via WhatsApp at +31 857 737 400.
Aruba residents currently in Colombia are advised to remain alert, follow official information and comply with travel advice and instructions from local authorities.
