JetZero unveils future aircraft with 30% lower fuel consumption

WASHINGTON – U.S. startup JetZero is developing a revolutionary passenger aircraft designed to use about 30% less fuel than conventional airplanes. Its first prototype flight is scheduled for 2027.

The aircraft features a blended-wing design resembling a manta ray, four aisles, seating for 250 passengers, and digital screens instead of traditional windows. According to the company, the design will improve efficiency while offering a range of about 9,000 kilometers.

JetZero has secured more than $3 billion in government loans and funding, while major airlines, including Delta Air Lines, have placed conditional pre-orders pending successful testing and certification.

If successful, the aircraft could mark the biggest change in commercial airplane design in decades.
