ORANJESTAD — The Parliament of Aruba has officially opened nominations for the 2026 Hala di Shoco Award, a recognition dedicated to young people between the ages of 15 and 24 who stand out through leadership, dedication and positive contributions to the community.
Residents of Aruba may nominate candidates between June 3 and July 3, 2026 through the Parliament’s official Facebook page and website.
A parliamentary committee will evaluate the nominations and select three finalists, after which the final winner will be chosen by Parliament.
Parliament President Marlon Sneek emphasized the importance of highlighting inspiring young people and encouraging others to work toward a better Aruba.
The Hala di Shoco Award is intended to honor youth who serve as role models within the Aruban community through their achievements, commitment and social impact.
