ORANJESTAD – The National Library of Aruba will officially open the solo exhibition “Interlasado: Paralel” on Thursday, July 9. Curated by Irvin Aguilar, the exhibition showcases the latest work of a local artist through a collection of ceramic sculptures, paintings and video projections drawn from the ongoing artistic project Interlasado.
The exhibition explores themes of nature, memory and transformation while examining the symbolic relationship between seeds, the female body and the landscape. Through these works, visitors are invited to reflect on the interconnectedness of people, nature and the cycles of life.
A central focus of the exhibition is the use of clay as a contemporary artistic language. By placing ceramics at the forefront of the exhibition, the artist challenges traditional distinctions between fine art and craft, highlighting the expressive possibilities of the medium within contemporary art.
The opening reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the National Library of Aruba, located at George Madurostraat 13 in Oranjestad. The exhibition will remain open to the public from July 10 through July 31, 2026.
Art enthusiasts and members of the public are invited to attend the opening and experience a multidisciplinary exhibition that brings together ceramics, painting and video in a thought-provoking exploration of identity, memory and nature.
