ORANJESTAD — Noord police issued 95 fines and arrested two people during traffic checks on Saturday night, October 31. Officers checked more than 245 vehicles at several strategic locations across the district.
The fines involved driving licences, vehicle inspections, insurance, mobile phone use and vehicle tax, among other offences. Both arrests were for marijuana possession. Police seized drugs and a moped whose documents were not in order.
Uniformed officers, motorcycle officers, K-9 and the Flex-team participated in the operation, which also covered the hotel area known as the “hot zone”. CEA, KMAR and DTP also assisted.
Aruba Police say the checks will continue and remind drivers to keep their documents in order, carry a valid driving licence and obey traffic rules.
