ORANJESTAD — Aruba's government will officially open registration for Short-Term Vacation Rentals on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at noon. Property owners and operators have until January 31, 2027, to register their accommodations.
Registration is voluntary, and no fines will be imposed simply for not participating. However, the government encourages existing operators to register so their properties can be evaluated and potentially qualify for a temporary tolerance framework (tijdelijk gedoogkader).
Under this framework, qualifying rentals operating before November 1 may continue operating during the evaluation process, subject to applicable conditions.
Registration does not automatically legalize a property or grant operating permits. Each accommodation will be assessed individually, while legislation establishing mandatory registration is being prepared.
Projects not yet operating may also qualify for transitional consideration if they can demonstrate substantial investments or contractual commitments made before November 1.
Registration is available at vacationrentalregistry.com.
