ORANJESTAD — Infrastructure Minister Rene Herdé is calling for a balanced approach to regulating ATV and UTV activities in Aruba, considering both their economic importance and the need to protect the island's natural environment.
According to Herdé, these vehicles pose challenges to the conservation of sensitive natural areas. The government therefore intends to continue discussions with ATV/UTV operators, the Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF), and Aruba Birdlife Conservation (ABC) to find mutually acceptable solutions.
The minister advocates clear rules and conditions to minimize environmental damage without unnecessarily harming tourism and recreational activities.
The government is evaluating possible measures and next steps. No specific regulations or implementation dates have been announced.
