Hackers expose data of 41,000 US security employees

WASHINGTON — Activist hackers have published personal information belonging to more than 41,000 employees of the US Department of Homeland Security, including immigration enforcement officers from ICE.

The leaked data includes names, phone numbers, email addresses and job descriptions. The group Distributed Denial of Secrets claims the publication aims to increase government transparency and accountability.

However, critics warn that exposing employee information could endanger staff and their families, as criminals can also access the database.

US authorities have launched an investigation. This marks the third major government data leak in a short period.
