ORANJESTAD — The Central Bank of Aruba (CBA) warns that foreign real estate investments could drive up housing and land prices for local residents. Rising international energy, transportation and food prices are also increasing pressure on Aruba's cost of living.
During international meetings with the IMF and World Bank, the CBA raised concerns about cyberattacks that could disrupt payment systems, affecting banks, businesses and consumers.
CBA President Thomas Domhoff emphasized that economic growth alone is insufficient. Aruba needs a more resilient economy in which all residents benefit from economic progress.
The bank calls for stronger cooperation between government, financial institutions and other organizations to protect Aruba's economic stability and payment systems.
