ORANJESTAD — The Joint Court of Justice will inspect a pier on Aruba's coast that was expanded without a permit in 2013, triggering a legal dispute between two neighbors since 2021.

Although the government ordered its demolition in 2023, the order remains unenforced. In 2025, a judge imposed daily penalties of Afl. 2,500, with a combined maximum of Afl. 125,000, linked to obligations concerning partial removal.

The Court will inspect the site on December 7 or 8, 2026, to determine whether the pier unlawfully interferes with the neighbor's rights before issuing a final ruling.
