PARIS — President Emmanuel Macron has announced a ban on all Saturday demonstrations not organized by trade unions following violent nationwide riots. More than 2,300 people were arrested and at least 1,500 shops looted. Macron blamed organized far-left groups for the violence and announced increased police and military deployment. Protests concern rising living costs, education problems and government policies.
