Police arrest suspects after armed robbery in Palm Beach
PALM BEACH — Police arrested the suspects in an armed robbery involving two men on Caya Calco on Monday night. One victim was struck with the butt of a firearm and taken to hospital.
Police received the report around 9:45 p.m., after the victims sought help at a home in Pos Abao. According to their statements, five men in a black car robbed them, armed with a firearm and a knife. The attackers also tried unsuccessfully to steal a white Mitsubishi van.
Officers later located a car matching the description in Seroe Pela. One suspect fled on foot but was caught. Police found drugs in his possession.
Other patrols continued searching for the vehicle, which subsequently crashed into the yard of a home in Turibana. Police arrested the suspects inside and seized the car.
The robbery investigation team and victim support services were notified. Anyone with information can call 11141 anonymously.
