Suspicious object outside RDA contained no explosives

SAN NICOLAS — A suspicious object resembling a bomb, found outside the Refineria di Aruba (RDA) building on Sunday morning, contained no explosive material, specialists confirmed after an examination.

Police received the report at approximately 6:26am. Officers found the object beside a planter and cordoned off the area as a precaution while awaiting explosives specialists.

Senior KPA officers, the fire department, ambulance service, CMO and the Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EODD) attended the scene.

The area reopened to residents and visitors after specialists established that the object contained no explosives. Police stressed that such reports are taken seriously and all necessary precautions are followed.
