Minister Dowers steps up cleaning and public order efforts in downtown Oranjestad

ORANJESTAD — Justice Minister Arthur Dowers visited several locations in downtown Oranjestad to assess ongoing cleaning operations and efforts to improve public order and safety.

Special attention was given to areas near the courthouse and commercial establishments, where accumulated waste and inappropriate use of public spaces have raised concerns among business owners and residents.

The government aims to prevent these problems from recurring after cleanup operations. Its approach also includes attention to vulnerable individuals facing addiction or mental health challenges.

According to Dowers, the objective is a cleaner, safer and more orderly city center through sustained action rather than occasional interventions.
