THE HAGUE — Aruba’s Minister Plenipotentiary, Mildred Schwengle, met with Senate President Mei Li Vos in a meeting that went beyond a formal introduction and focused on several major challenges facing Aruba.
The discussions included Aruba’s public finances, poverty reduction, the distribution of prosperity and well-being, tourism, education and the costs associated with climate change.
The talks highlighted the pressure these issues place on Aruba as a small island, particularly in the areas of public finances, cost of living, social development and climate adaptation.
The meeting forms part of Aruba’s political contacts with Kingdom institutions in The Hague.
