ORANJESTAD — AVP parliamentarian Carlos Bermudez is asking Labor Minister Wendrick Cicilia for clarity about the future of the Department of Labor Progress (DPL) and the Directorate of Labor and Research (DAO), following concerns among employees about a possible reorganization.
Bermudez wants to know whether the Quick Scan carried out at both departments has been completed, what its main findings and recommendations are, and whether the Government is prepared to submit the full report to Parliament.
He is also requesting details about possible changes to the organizational structure, division of responsibilities, management and service delivery, as well as whether DPL and DAO could be merged or reorganized.
According to Bermudez, any changes should provide employees with clear information about their duties, legal position and responsibilities, and should include consultation with staff and their representatives.
