Aruba police issue 107 traffic fines during checks in Oranjestad

ORANJESTAD — Oranjestad district police issued a total of 107 traffic fines during an enforcement operation held on Wednesday, September 23, from the afternoon into the late evening.

The operation, which also involved the Motorcycle Unit and CEA department, focused mainly on speeding, mobile phone use while driving and other traffic violations.

Checks were carried out at several locations, including Watty Vos Boulevard near the Bushiri and Cumana roundabouts and Henny Eman Boulevard near ATA.

In addition to the 107 fines, police detained two people for not having valid residency permits and seized a vehicle that had no valid documentation.

Fines were issued for violations including speeding, mobile phone use, driver’s license issues, failure to wear a seat belt, unpaid vehicle tax, lack of insurance, invalid inspection documents and defective lights.

Aruba Police Force says traffic checks will continue and is urging drivers to keep all vehicle and driving documents valid and up to date.
