ORANJESTAD — The San Nicolas Pop-Up Market will celebrate its first anniversary this Saturday, September 26, at Plaza Lolita. What started in September 2025 with just 13 local vendors and artisans has grown into a monthly market with more than 60 participants.
The market was created to provide local entrepreneurs, producers and artisans with an accessible platform to sell their products, expand their customer base and generate income. With support from the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and the Primary Sector and District Advisor Rondel Heyliger, participation has steadily increased over the past year.
Visitors to Plaza Lolita can find crafts, locally grown products, food, drinks and other goods from local businesses and producers, combined with music and a family-friendly atmosphere.
According to Minister Geoffrey Wever, the Pop-Up Market forms part of a broader vision to revitalize central San Nicolas by creating more economic activity, attracting visitors and strengthening small businesses.
There are currently more than 50 vendors and artisans on a waiting list, and the government plans to expand the market further.
The anniversary edition will take place on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Plaza Lolita.
