WILLEMSTAD – Two women were killed in a serious traffic accident in Curaçao during the early morning hours at the intersection of Dominico ‘Don’ Martina Boulevard and Schottegatweg-Zuid.

The victims were identified as 40-year-old Sharismar Rosalia Hous and 64-year-old Zaira A. Nepomuceno-Martis. Both were born in Curaçao.

According to police, two passenger vehicles were involved. The two women were in one vehicle, while three people were traveling in the other.

When ambulance personnel arrived, both women were in critical condition and showed no signs of life. A police doctor later officially pronounced them dead.

Preliminary police findings indicate that failure to yield may have caused the collision. The Traffic Department is continuing its investigation into the exact circumstances.

Police did not provide further information on the condition of the three occupants of the other vehicle.
