ORANJESTAD - Rotaract Club of Aruba has celebrated 35 years of its Back2School project, an initiative aimed at helping children and families prepare for the new school year.
In 2026, the project supported 52 children. Of that total, 16 received full sponsorship covering essential costs such as school fees, air-conditioning expenses, backpacks with school supplies, uniforms and sneakers. The remaining children received new backpacks filled with school essentials.
The initiative was supported by community donations of school supplies and financial contributions. Rotaract also made donations to Fundacion Pa Nos Comunidad and Orthopedagogisch Centrum Aruba.
According to the club, the project continues to show, after 35 years, how community cooperation and solidarity can make a meaningful difference in the education and well-being of children in Aruba.
