ORANJESTAD – Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector Minister Geoffrey Wever attended the opening of ArtisA, a new art gallery by Tito Bolivar located in the former Aruba Bank building on Caya G.F. “Betico” Croes.

According to Wever, ArtisA fits into the broader vision to revitalize downtown Oranjestad by giving residents and visitors more reasons to visit the city center, increasing foot traffic and creating opportunities for surrounding businesses.

The minister highlighted cooperation with the Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce and Industry (DEZHI) and Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba (SMFA), as well as the importance of giving existing buildings new uses. The strategy combines commerce, culture, hospitality, housing and services in the city center.

Wever said ArtisA adds an important cultural element to several ongoing revitalization projects and represents another step toward strengthening Oranjestad as Aruba’s economic and cultural heart.
