Curacao Prime Minister Pisas calls for unity in MFK after internal dispute
WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas has called for calm, reconciliation, and unity within the MFK party following a public dispute between Member of Parliament Javier Silvania and Finance Minister Charles Cooper over the island's online gaming sector. Pisas said party members have the right to ask critical questions but believes internal disagreements should be resolved within the party rather than through the media or social networks.
He confirmed that Silvania will remain a member of MFK and has no plans to start a new political party. Pisas also announced that an independent investigation will be launched into the Curaçao Gaming Authority, including payments made to a company in Malta. According to the prime minister, the priority is to improve communication within the party and prevent further political damage.
