Spain Crowned World Champions After Ferran Torres' Extra-Time Winner

NEW JERSEY - Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at New York New Jersey Stadium.

After a tense and scoreless 90 minutes, Ferran Torres became Spain's hero by scoring in the 106th minute following an assist from Nico Williams. The goal secured Spain's second World Cup title, their first since 2010.

Spain dominated possession throughout the match, creating numerous chances while Lamine Yamal constantly threatened the Argentine defense. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez kept Argentina alive with a series of outstanding saves.

Argentina's task became even harder when Enzo Fernández was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in stoppage time. Leandro Paredes was also shown a red card after the final whistle.

Despite a late push from Argentina, Spain held on to claim a deserved victory.
